There has been a lot of snow here this past week - On Monday Tiggs had a snow day - which is like the second coming of Christ or something - the way the news traveled between Antigone and her friends...via c-phone...at 6:20 a.m. on the snow day - she was on the phone talking to her friends - wide awake talking on the phone - she doesn't even get up at that time....just the same "I remember...." a snow day we had when I was a 1st grader at St. Rita's in Kellogg...we went outside to play DUCK DUCK GOOSE GOOSE in the snow - built these extended paths through the front lawn of the house at the old house and the mission lawn around the little tiny willow tree and played all day out in the snow - what I do remember is having to jump up and look over the top of the snow paths - through the DEEP snow to try to figure out where everyone was - I being a little short was at a distinct advantage except I had this wild ass hair that stuck out and was a dead give-away to everyone.... coupled with a good vertical leap of about 2" I was a serious loser.

Snow days are cool. Even the dogs love the snow days only because that means that their surragote father (Brian) had the day off as well which allowed extra time for a path to be dug around the back yard and a snow cave dug in the pile left behind.

Cassius could hardly contain himself as Brian punched thru to the other side. Lewis was scared the entire time and after it was finished still didn't have the heart to go in the tunnel.

For some reason (probably because I'm still half asleep myself and got confused by the post above it by Josh), I read this story with Josh's voice in my mind. I didn't remember playing Duck Duck Goose at the mission when we were kids, but he always remembers stuff that I don't. But I was in agreement when "he" said he was such a loser. Then I noticed it was written by Baba Jo.

I can't find an image of the strip, but one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes comics is Calvin being so excited about the snow. He says something to the effect that school HAS to be cancelled, as the snow is at least waist deep. Then it ends with him trudging out to the bus, observing that "waist deep" is a relative term.
