So that's why they call them glasses

So my glasses fell off the short shelf in the shower yesterday. They landed in a way that made me wince, but they looked fine. I finished my shower, dried off my glasses, got dressed, brushed my teeth, shut down the house, and then crawled into bed to read for a bit. Just as I settled in, I heard the crinkle-crackle of a crack edging across the lens, like a high pitched ice crack out of a movie. Sunuvabich!

I can't decide if I like the picture or the story best - so what was it you were looking at in the shower to make you take your glasses into the shower with you?

Story makes me laugh...but you are an odd one. =)

I was shaving in the shower, hence the glasses.

I got tape on the cracks so glass fragments won't drift into my eyeball and I ordered new (plastic and shatterproof) lenses.

I didn't mention that essentially the same thing happened with the other lens about a week after I switched to glass lenses. I made the switch because the plastic lenses have a coating that wears off and I thought glass would last longer. That's what I get for thinking.

Did I ever break a lens when I was younger? I know my frames were always falling apart but I don't recall breaking any lenses. I assumed that if I could make it through grade school without breaking any lenses I could handle adulthood.
